Mykonos is an island i fell in love with the instant i walked off the boat.
Stepping foot in Mykonos town i realised it is a twenty four hour city, all day and all night there are things going on. The bars, shops, restaurants and cafes are open until all hours of the night and you treasure the beauty of having summer days and nights that feel like they last forever.
The local Greek people are surrounded by tourism for at least four months every year, i would understand how their patience would run out always having foreigners in their town. However every encounter i had with the locals was one i left with a smile on my face, the kindest, nicest, happiest people i have come across in my travels. Always happy to chat, give directions or recommendations on where to eat and which beaches to visit.
The colours in Mykonos inspire all the senses and creativity and art is jumping out at you every corner you turn.
Mykonos had everything i love in a holiday destination, amazing crystal blue waters, peace and tranquility in outdoor living, shopping with late night trading every night, food that is fresh and grown locally, tradition and culture, bars and night clubs starting at 2am if you can handle it and beautiful kind people.
When i left, i felt that Mykonos was imprinted in my heart of somewhere i will continue to visit throughout my life, it is an island i feel inspires me and makes me smile with its endless beauty...
